Thurles Templemore and Roscrea Residents Parking Permit

Conditions of Use – Re. Resident Parking Permit

  1. A “VALID RESIDENT PARKING PERMIT” means a resident’s parking permit, which relates to a particular street/car park and to a period which has not expired and which is issued by the Local Authority in whose functional area the vehicle on which the resident’s permit is displayed is parked.
  2. The display of a valid resident’s parking permit on the vehicle in respect of which the resident permit was issued shall permit the registered owner of the vehicle (or any person using it with the registered owner’s consent) to park without limitation as to time in a pay parking place in a street/car park to which the resident permit relates.
  3. A valid resident’s parking permit shall be so displayed in the interior of the vehicle in respect of which it is issued that it can be read from outside the vehicle.
  4. A resident’s parking permit shall be valid for one year from the date of issue.
  5. Where during the period to which a resident’s parking permit relates, the resident to whom it is issued ceases to reside at the address specified on the permit or ceases to be an owner by disposing of the vehicle to which the permit relates, he/she shall return it, addressed to the person whose signature appears on it, to Tipperary County Council by whom the permit was issued.
  6. Where during the period to which a resident’s parking permit relates, the resident to whom it is issued disposes of the vehicle to which the permit relates, and substitutes another vehicle for the one disposed of, he/she shall return the permit (addressed to the person whose signature appears on it) to Tipperary County Council by whom the permit was issued which upon payment of such fee as may be prescribed by Tipperary County Council from time to time by the resident shall issue to the resident a new permit in respect of the vehicle, and such new permit shall be valid for the period specified.
  7. Where during the period to which a resident’s parking permit relates the resident to whom it is issued loses it he/she shall be entitled to the issue of a substitute resident parking permit upon payment of such fee as may be prescribed by Tipperary County Council from time to time and upon completion of a statutory declaration verifying the loss of the current resident parking permit and such substitute resident’s parking permit shall be valid for the period specified.
  8. A resident parking permit does not entitle the applicant to a parking lot in the pay parking place to which the residents parking permit applies.
  9. Please note that only 2 permits can be issued to one household.

  • Please note the expiry date on you permit as it is the responsibility of the permit holder to renew their permit.
  • Thurles Municipal District will not accept appeals on parking fines issued to a vehicle where: The valid resident’s permit is not displayed correctly or Where the permit is out of date.

Permits are issued at the absolute discretion of Tipperary County Council, Thurles Municipal District, Castle Avenue, Thurles, County Tipperary.
