Local Area Plan Consultation

Local Area Plans take a detailed look at a specific area, and provide a land use planning framework and principles for the future development of the area. The objectives contained in the local area plan are relevant to the local area and must be consistent with the objectives of the County Development Plans.

The Cahir Local Area Plan 2021-2027 sets out a strategic vision for the development of Cahir to 2027 and beyond, providing guidance as to how this vision can be achieved, where new development should be located, what public infrastructure is required and objectives to deliver the plan in partnership with stakeholders and the local community. The Plan was made on 12th April 2012 and came into effect on 24th May 2021.

The Cashel and Environs Development Plan, 2009 came into effect in January, 2009. The development plan sets out the strategic planning framework, policies and objectives of the Council for land use development within the plan boundary. NOTICE OF MAKING THE CLONMEL AND ENVIRONS DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2013

The Clonmel and Environs Local Area Plan 2024-2030 sets out the local spatial planning framework for Clonmel to 2030. The Plan was made on 12th February 2024 and came into effect on 25th March 2024.

The Nenagh and Environs Local Area Plan 2024-2030 sets out the local spatial planning framework for Nenagh to 2030. The Plan was made on 12th February 2024 and came into effect on 25th March 2024.

The Nenagh Town and Environs Development Plan, 2013 came into effect in January, 2013. The development plan sets out the strategic planning framework, policies and objectives of the Council for land use development within the plan boundary. This plan was prepared by North Tipperary County Council in conjunction with The Roscrea Town Centre Enhancement Steering Committee and supported by the Heritage Council. This plan is a key action towards the fulfilment of objectives and policies set out in the Roscrea Local Area Plan (2012-2018).

This Plan has identified a number of projects to enhance the town centre and ensure that Roscrea fulfils its potential as a Heritage Town and as an economically viable centre of commercial and social activity.

The Roscrea Local Area Plan (LAP) 2012 - 2018 was adopted by North Tipperary County Council on the 18th June 2012 with a lifetime of six years. The LAP is the statement of planning policies and objectives for the town of Roscrea. On the 8th May, 2017, in accordance with Section 19 (1) (f) of the Planning and Development Acts (as amended), Tipperary County Council resolved to extend the life of the Roscrea LAP. Therefore, the Roscrea LAP will remain effective until the 17th June, 2023.

The Roscrea Local Area Plan 2023-2029 sets out a strategic vision for the development of Roscrea to 2029. It provides a development framework to guide investment,  to enable employment and homes, to protect the environment and heritage and to help deliver a good quality of life for Roscrea.

The Plan was made on 11th September 2023  and will come into effect on 23rd October 2023.

The Templemore and Environs Development Plan, 2012 came into effect in April, 2012. The development plan sets out the strategic planning framework, policies and objectives of the Council for land use development within the plan boundary.
