NOTES FOR APPLICANT WHEN APPLYING FOR A ROAD CLOSURE.

Two notices are required to go on the paper – notice of intention and notice of decision.

Six weeks is the time required for closing a road (date would depend on when notice is received).

Both notices must be placed in one or more newspapers circulating in the area.

Temporary Closure of Roads

From time to time it will be necessary for roads to be temporarily closed to facilitate road works, water and sewerage schemes, events, etc.

The council gives notice through advertisements in the local press of the roads to be closed and alternative routes available during the course of the closure.
