NENAGH YOUTH THEATRE - NENAGH ARTS CENTRE
Nenagh Youth Theatre is resident at Nenagh Arts Centre. Hundreds of local people have either participated or attended youth theatre workshops or shows throughout the years. They have shot short films in our auditorium, used our outdoor area for site specific shows and performed several lives plays and pantomimes on our stage.

Nenagh Youth Theatre runs weekly workshops in our studio space every Saturday morning, 11.30am – 1.30pm. Workshops include acting, writing, comedy improv, physical theatre and lots more to accommodate the many talents and interests of the young people of Nenagh. Drama workshops are a great way for young people to feel apart of a team, its great for their self expression and confidence building.

As an affiliate member of the national organisation of Youth Theatre’s – Youth Theatre Ireland, participants have several opportunities to participate on a national level by attending festivals, workshops, youth conferences and camps throughout the year.

When Covid hit, like everything Nenagh Youth Theatre went online, running workshops on zoom, creating scenes, films and they even designed their very own festival Quaranteen Youth Arts Festival. The creativity of this group is never ending. The festival was to provide a social as well as a creative outlet for the young people.

This group is suitable for 13 – 17yr olds who are looking for a creative outlet to express themselves, gain an understanding of theatre as an art form while making memories and having lots of fun, then Nenagh Youth Theatre is the place for you!

The 20 week term costs €100- September to end of November
Dates for the new year coming soon

Tipperary Youth Arts HUB

This is an initiative that was identified to support practice and sharing between all involved in youth arts in Tipperary and to support the development of this area of practice. It is also one of the desired outcomes of our Framework Agreement that “more artists will have had the opportunity to engage in professional development in a youth arts context.” This new Hub has been developed working in partnership with The National Youth Council of Ireland, Tipperary ETB , Youth Work Ireland Tipperary and Tipperary Arts Office.
