Arts Development Programmes

Local authorities may run artistic residencies, youth projects, and arts and wellbeing programmes to increase participation in, and appreciation of, all art forms.

Arts Programme

The Arts Service aims to provide a well-balanced Arts Programme in order to provide increased opportunities for the public to engage with and participate in high quality arts events.

The Arts includes; music, literature, film, theatre, dance, visual arts, circus and architecture. The Arts Programme is designed to encourage partnerships between artists, arts organizations and community groups and thus increase audiences for Arts and Cultural Providers throughout Tipperary.

Arts Programming also provides opportunities for artists to create and perform or display innovative new work, locally, nationally and internationally.

Creative Places Tipperary      

Tipperary Town has been awarded a Creative Places Award from The Arts Council for a three-year developmental arts programme for Tipperary Town 2022-2024. 

Early Arts Report

Tipperary County Council’s Arts Office with funding support from The Arts Council and in partnership with Tipperary County Childcare Committee led this collaborative project with the aim of contributing to the development of arts practice for an early year’s audience.

The development of practice in this area has been a key element of Tipperary’s Arts Strategies around Education and the Arts in recent years.

The project also supports the development of arts organisations based in the Tipperary area in the development of new work.

switch - Videos in Windows around Nenagh Town.

Nenagh is currently part of an artist led project, switch. Founded in 2007, switch promotes and shows contemporary video art in a public context. 

Video works are installed in different locations throughout the town centre of Nenagh and ran simultaneously from dusk till late. We will announce details of switch 2023 later in the year. Visit http://www.s-w-i-t-c-h.org/ for further information.  

Tipperary Dance Programme

Tipperary Dance is an artist-led organisation, co-founded and directed by Alexandre Iseli, a dance artist and choreographer driven by a particular vision developed over three decades of artistic practice across Europe and the world.
