Charity Shops

The Environment and Climate Action Section of Tipperary County Council would like to recognize the key role Charity Shops make by facilitating the public to donate items such as clothes, jewelry, kitchen utilities and small items of furniture which extends their lifecycle, reduces waste volumes and sustains the work of charities locally. Environment and Climate Action Section recently carried out a series of Ads with Tipp FM promoting the work carried out by Charity Shops and asking the public to use their charity shops as a first means to buying clothes etc.

Textile Bank Service

Tipperary has 80 clothes/textile receptacles at bring bank locations which are owned and managed by the local authority, coloured a bright orange with the local authority logo.

The aim of the service is to increase the recycling levels of textiles, in enabling members of the public to dispose of unwanted clothes in support of the circular economy.

The items are segregated into reusable clothes and waste. All material collected is tracked and traceable to the end destination.
